A Story of Love, Loyalty, and Loss

General George Armstrong Custer and his wife, Elizabeth Bacon Custer, were a devoted couple who shared a love of animals, especially dogs. This book tells the story of their lives and their dogs, from the time they met to the tragic Battle of Little Bighorn. It is a story of love, loyalty, and loss, and it will stay with you long after you finish reading it.

George and Libbie met in 1864, and they were married a year later. They soon adopted their first dog, a Newfoundland named Carlo. Carlo was a loyal and loving companion, and he quickly became a part of the Custer family. Over the years, the Custers would adopt several more dogs, including a greyhound named Dandy, a bulldog named Boston, and a terrier named Custer. These dogs were all beloved members of the family, and they played an important role in the Custers' lives.

In 1876, General Custer led the 7th Cavalry Regiment into the Battle of Little Bighorn. The battle was a disaster for the U.S. Army, and Custer and his men were all killed. Libbie Custer was devastated by her husband's death, and she spent the rest of her life mourning him. She also took care of the dogs that had belonged to her husband, and she kept them with her until her death in 1933.

The story of General Custer, Libbie Custer, and their dogs is a tragic one, but it is also a story of love, loyalty, and loss. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.
